They are so cute!

I started this channel to help writers and answer all the questions I get via my business, at conferences, when I’m speaking, when I work 1:1 with writers and see in social media groups. It’s a channel dedicated to YOU–the WRITER/STORYTELLER.

GoalswritingMay28

Happy first day of the new week—because yesterday was a holiday—I hope you did something fun.

My husband and I went to see the new Ryan Reynolds movie—Detective Pikachu and while we totally enjoyed it, I found myself wondering why I didn’t really care about the characters, especially the main character.

Did you see it? What did you think?

We also watched all of DEAD TO ME—and that was brilliant in every way.

The characters were so well developed. There was no telling-everything we found out we did in the right way-they ever used flashbacks effectively. Every episode ended with what I call a page turner (even in TV shows)—it made us binge instead of waiting for the next day. The dialogue was all perfect.

***THIS IS A SHOW TO WATCH TO LEARN craft of storytelling. I can’t recommend it enough.

***Warning if the F word offends you, then it’s probably not the show for you though.

Have you seen it?

So, I’m a day late in posting my goal post for the week-which usually I put out on Mondays. But, since I took most of the day off to recharge I figured that a lot of you did as well.

Now, it’s time to write down those goals!!!

Happy writing!!!

writinggoals.jpgHappy Monday!! Yay new week, new possibilities! I love Mondays.

What are your writing goals for the week?
Mine are:
1. Write/revise in the YA every day for at least TWO hours.
2. Shoot some videos for my new YT channel
3. Do nothing for a few hours every day to recharge.
It’s such a great practice to write down your goals and posting them on social media is even better because then you not only have a community of others, you can also be held accountable.
Sometimes we don’t reach our goals and then we feel bad, but we shouldn’t, it’s normal and it’s okay to shift them if you need to.
I invite you to post your goals in the comments and or on social media.
As well, I’d love to see you in my new Story Concierge FB group.

Lastly, I am shooting videos THIS week for my NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL

As always have an amazing writing week!!!

Hey everyone, special Sunday post today to share a little about the Iceland Writers Retreat I went to last month (April 2019). There’s a link to get the full article too.

How did you find out about Iceland Writers Retreat originally?

I was searching for a writing event in Iceland because I wanted an excuse to visit and this one popped up. I have wanted to go ever since then. (2015)

IMG_1621-225x300

What were you most looking forward to about the Retreat?

Being in Iceland and meeting writers from all over the world. I feel like international writing events always bring something extra special to the table because we come from every corner of the globe with this one common thing—storytelling.

How has writing influenced your life?

It’s everything to me in so many ways that it’s hard to pinpoint. I wrote my first novel at age 13 after becoming best friends with Ponyboy Curtis and Holden Caufield. I think it was then when I realized that I could escape in any book, whether I was writing it or reading it. It’s made me a storyteller for even the most basic of things.
