“The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat, etc. So people who don’t know what the hell they’re doing or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self: Tall. Decaf. Cappuccino.” ~ Joe Fox, You’ve Got Mail
You’ve Got Mail is still one of my all time favorite go to films. I love it. I love love love New York..in the fall.. and otherwise. I love Kathleen and Joe. I love the whole idea of the film and yes I know it’s a remake, but a pretty good one if you ask me. I wish that there were more great romantic comedies out there, seems like so many are from the 80s and 90s.. why? Why can’t there be good ones written anymore? Okay a few great ones from 2000 and up are, The Holiday, It’s Complicated, Love Actually, About a Boy, and The Silver Linings Playbook, and oh (500) Days of Summer.
The drawing is one I did this morning when I heard that quote… I do love my decision making time at Starbucks.
