WHO IS THIS CHARACTER?
So a lot of people have been contacting me about the blogs I write about character, and while there are a lot of books on character development, there aren’t any on dialogue, which in scripts is oh-so-important.
Developing characters whether for novels, film or television is one of the hardest things that writers struggle with and it’s the biggest issue I see when reading scripts and books. All the characters speak and act the same.
Look at the 5 very different characters on this page, now in the same situation, they would all act very differently and they would all speak differently and yet I get scripts all the time where all the characters talk exactly the same.
